The stare
Every dog looks at the sun sometimes. Most blink. One shiba climbed the highest hill, put on his shades and looked straight into it — and just kept looking.
The arc
The sun blinked first. Out of respect it left a golden arc above his head. It never faded. Since then, he's been known as arcdog.
